Description

Laboratory for RNA-Based Lifeforms (RNAlab) at the University of Toronto (PI: Artem Babaian) seeks a full-time postdoctoral fellow in Toronto to engineer enzymes to degrade microplastics using AI and high-throughput molecular biology. The project develops tools (e.g., Logan) to mine large genomics datasets to evolve and test novel plastic-degrading enzymes. Candidates should hold a PhD in Molecular/Synthetic Biology, Biochemistry, or Genetics, have strong skills in yeast/bacterial systems, enzyme assays, or metabolic engineering, and have interest in automation, robotics, and collaboration with AI and computational biology scientists.
