Description

Street Contxt's mission is to intelligently connect the capital markets. We leverage proprietary machine learning technology and patented systems to enable our customers to target the right investor with the right research, giving both the research provider and consumer a competitive edge in the market. Street Contxt brings transparency, accountability, scale, and profitability to institutional research distribution and consumption, allowing firms to scale and stay ahead of changing regulations. We are a small, growing, tight-knit team of ~37 and have already won some of the biggest customers in our space (think bulge-bracket investment banks). Our product is cloud-hosted, and we do not version our product for customers, making the business model and product scalable, and enables us to avoid the technical debt typically associated with enterprise software. As the Vice President of Engineering at Street Contxt, you will focus on organizational design, process design, and people. We have a very strong technical organization, and now we need someone who can make it their full-time focus to help the technical organization do their best work, and bring in the supporting non-technical processes such as feedback, professional development, departmental design, forecasting, and process design. In this role, you will continually iterate towards the optimal organizational and functional design that enables the development and delivery great products, balancing progression of the Product Roadmap with paying down technical debt. You will serve as an acting-CTO, working closely with our most senior engineers to align the technical, product and hiring roadmaps. You can also expect to mentor and coach our functional leaders and team leads, developing their skills as people managers. From a tech-stack perspective, we currently use Java, Scala, React, Akka, Java EE, WildFly, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Python, Tensorflow, PyTorch, AWS, Docker on ECS, Git, Github, CircleCI, JIRA and Confluence. Our system is comprised of a retreating monolith surrounded by a collection of microservices that are scrutinized through automated tests.
