Hey HN! I am hiring REMOTE Staff and Principal-level SREs for my team at Okta. This team has a pretty exciting mission: we're going to build the next-generation hosting infrastructure for one of Okta's most successful products. This is going to be a greenfield design and it's a chance to design your dream infrastructure and workflow and do it for a top-tier, publicly-traded tech company and have fun doing it. Our design is cellular and we're going to build many of these hosting cells, so we have build them right and make them easy to replicate and manage. Specifically, I'm looking for experienced SREs who embody the following: - Technical excellence in Kubernetes implementation/migration is required, preferably with strong AWS knowledge. Deep Linux experience is a must. Software development experience is a strong plus (especially with Go) but not a hard requirement. - Exceedingly strong ability to automate repetitious tasks and build stuff for scale. To use an analogy, we're not building a restaurant, we're designing a restaurant that will be franchised all around the world and your experience needs to demonstrate your ability to design/build like this. We will use tooling like Terraform, Helm, and Go (among other things) to accomplish this. - An outgoing personality that works well in a team and who enjoys spending time with their team. I recognize that this isn't a typical SRE requirement but this team is not the typical SRE team. This isn't a pure operations/maintenance role; we're building a brand new product and we're going to be actively working together to hash out design ideas and decide together upon the very best ones.
