Description
Systematic energy forecasting and trading company. Ingests messy heterogeneous data (market, generator, weather, outage) and builds models to forecast it. Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform role works closely with the founders, taking over technical direction for data systems end-to-end. Team includes ex-D.E. Shaw, Optiver, and Stanford. Bootstrapped, profitable, and growing. Remote-first with in-person meetings multiple times a year. US or non-US candidates welcome if they can overlap 4+ hours with PST. Requires 4+ years shipping and maintaining software, strong Python skills, and experience with multiprocessed and HPC workloads; crisp written communication. Nice to have: data lake/Parquet architectures and Rust (especially PyO3 extensions).
