Role details
Responsibilities
- Build web applications and support development for Scholarly\u2019s HR operating system
- Enable data-driven decisions and automate processes such as performance reviews, tenure processes, and leave workflows
- Work collaboratively with fellow engineers to develop and maintain the Scholarly product
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Weigh in on product decisions
- Own engineering efforts end-to-end
Requirements
- 8 or more years of experience building web applications
- Experience building web applications as a full-stack candidate
- 5 or more years of experience with Ruby on Rails or an equivalent web framework
- 4-year degree in computer science is a plus, but not required
- Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc.)
- Authorized to work in the United States (citizen or green card holder)
- Excited to work on-site in Seattle 5 days per week

Scholarly is building the HR operating system for higher education. We\u2019ve built a software platform that enables customers to make data-driven decisions and to automate essential processes like performance reviews, tenure processes, leave workflows, and more. We are a venture-backed seed stage company. We\u2019re looking for a full-stack candidate with 8 or more years of experience building web applications. Engineering is based in Seattle and on site in Pioneer Square. The team comes from Gusto, NASA JPL, Amazon, Outreach, and others. Compensation: $160k - $200k + equity + health benefits + equipment budget.
