Zipcar

Zipcar is expanding its engineering team at its SFBA office in San Mateo to develop a next-generation telematics platform and maintain tens of thousands of in-field devices. The role focuses on a green-field redesign of in-car telematics firmware, with a big push to write firmware in Rust (with support to open-source what is possible). The stack includes bare-metal C on PIC, RTOS C++ on ARM, and Java on the server/data-ingestion side. Work includes building connected-car technology for Zipcar and Avis and integrating with platform APIs.
