Description
We’re building the operating system for the digital infrastructure of government. Authorium is a GovTech SaaS platform that unifies messy, high-stakes workflows (procurement, grants, budgeting) that keep state and local governments running. We replace fragmented docs, spreadsheets and legacy systems with a unified data layer managing billions in public funds. Customers include California's CDSS, CalPERS, and EDD, plus major agencies in NY, Florida and Washington. We’re standing up our SF office as the war room for modularizing core domain, designing the next-gen workflow engine, and building versioning and approval systems across customer configurations. The work involves whiteboarding, debugging, and shipping in person with a high-caliber team. Two roles open: Full-Stack Engineer (3+ yrs) and Senior Full-Stack Engineer (6+ yrs). Both value deep fundamentals (system design, database optimization, clean architecture) over specific syntax. Bonus for Rails, document-heavy systems, or regulated-industry experience (GovTech, FinTech, HealthTech). Stack: Ruby on Rails (BE), Hotwire and Next.js (FE), enterprise form and document capabilities. AI is leveraged in development process: Claude Code for specs, agentic testing, automated reviews. Benefits: 100% employee coverage, 401(k), flexible PTO, home office + commuter stipend. Apply at the links above (mention Hacker News). Contact: Jay, co-founder and xCIO of City of SF (jay@authorium.com).
