Responsibilities
- Conduct practical driving assessments, ensuring candidates meet Queensland Government standards and road safety regulations.
- Assess driving skills, road rule knowledge, and the ability to operate vehicles safely in various traffic and road conditions.
- Provide clear, constructive, and professional feedback to applicants following assessments.
- Deliver assessments fairly and consistently, following departmental policies and procedures.
- Promote road safety awareness and contribute to reducing incidents on Queensland roads.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective service delivery.
Requirements
- A current and valid Queensland driver's licence, including HR (Heavy Rigid), held for at least 12 months is mandatory.
- An HC (Heavy Combination) or R (motorcycle) licence is highly desirable, with higher licence classes preferred.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Driving Examiner Accreditation through the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
- A clean driving record with no significant infringements.
- Flexibility to travel to neighbouring centres as required.
