This call is an opportunity for you to ask questions about the role, company, culture, values, or product. This is a hypothetical prompt designed to resemble key aspects of this role's responsibilities. Each take-home project is thoughtfully designed by the hiring manager to include a grading system, concise directions, and clear goals. These projects may take between 3-6 hours to complete depending on the role. However, we never use your work product. After the skills assessment, we'll dive into your technical skills during 1 to 2 interviews hosted by your potential colleagues. This step focuses on the specifics of the role and provides you an opportunity to ask the team about their experiences at Close. Interviews conclude with a 1:1, 30-minute call with one of our Co-Founders or VP of Engineering. These are typically honest conversations that allow you the opportunity to discuss any outstanding questions. Our founders are active leaders at Close and genuinely interested in every person who joins the team. We’ll ask you to provide three references who can speak to your professional experience––ideally at least one of whom you've reported to. These calls help us validate what we already believe to be true based on our interviews with you. Introduce us to someone in your network who would be a great fit for one of our open roles. We’ll send you a $1,000 referral bonus for successful hires.

Description

Close is hiring four engineers — Sr. Backend Engineer (Python), Sr. Frontend Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, and a Software Engineer for our Support team (internal tooling + AI systems). We’re bootstrapped, profitable, ~100 people, 100% remote US. No PMs telling you what to build — we hire people who take ownership, move fast, and care about craft. The Support Eng role in particular is a rare one: embedded inside our Support function, shipping AI automation and internal tools with a tight feedback loop. All roles are full-time, async-first, US time zones.
