Responsibilities
- Support a growing short-form content operation on an ongoing retainer basis
- Edit high-volume short-form social content for Meta with strong pacing, hooks, retention, and storytelling
- Work in a collaborative, iterative workflow where creative is regularly tested and refined
- Create platform-native content for social-first environments
- Apply captions/subtitles and UGC-style editing for social-first storytelling
- Maintain consistency and responsiveness to meet production cadence
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional video editing
- Strong experience editing for Meta (Facebook/Instagram)
- Strong experience editing for TikTok and other short-form social platforms
- Strong understanding of hooks and retention
- Strong understanding of platform-native pacing
- Strong understanding of captions/subtitles
- Strong understanding of UGC-style editing
- Strong understanding of social-first storytelling
- Experience with creative testing workflows
- Experience working with performance marketing or direct-response creative is a plus

At Forbes Advisor, our mission is to help readers turn their aspirations into reality. We are looking for a Freelance Video Editor to support a growing short-form content operation on an ongoing retainer basis. The role produces high-volume short-form social content on Meta, focused on fast-moving, performance-oriented creative. You will collaborate with the Head of Creative Strategy and a team of Creative Strategists in an iterative workflow where creative is regularly tested and refined. Initially expected up to 4 days per week. Start date: ASAP (ideally before end of June). Location: UK- or US-based preferred. Working hours: UK 9am–5pm; US 8am–4pm (local time). Expected cadence: approximately 4 batches of content per week; each batch contains roughly 5 short-form edits; most edits approximately 30 seconds.
