Headquarters: United States - Remote. Instacart is transforming the grocery industry and building AI solutions for Agentic Commerce, including Cart Assistant, an enterprise-grade shopping agent for grocery. The Principal Product Manager will lead a fast-paced 0->1, highly visible product role at the intersection of generative AI, consumer experience, and retailer-facing B2B e-commerce. Responsibilities include owning and setting the product roadmap; leading product discovery and translating needs into vision, milestones, and launch plans; driving measurable adoption and engagement outcomes with metrics and dashboards; leading cross-functional execution with Engineering/ML/DS/Design; running rapid experiments and shipping iterative improvements; improving core agent performance and behavior with state-of-the-art methods; representing the product to senior leadership and external retail partners; aligning product and GTM plans with business development/market strategy/GTM teams; and scaling Cart Assistant across Instacart surfaces and products. Minimum qualifications include 8+ years product management, 5+ years building/shipping consumer-facing commerce end-to-end with 2+ years LLM-powered products in production, launching a 0-to-1 product to general availability with measurable impact, AI/ML technical fluency, experience with OKRs and experimentation, and strong communication. Preferred qualifications include experience across consumer and B2B/enterprise, startup and large company environments, domain expertise in ecommerce/retail/grocery/marketplaces, experience building/improving LLM agent systems, and familiarity with A/B testing and GenAI trust/safety/privacy/compliance.
