Role details

  • Mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, washing, polishing and dusting floors, carpet, walls, windows, and doors
  • Trash and recycling removal
  • Cleaning restrooms, stairwells, offices and other areas as required
  • Non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning facilities and equipment
  • Standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems (tubes, fixtures, switches, photocells, outlets) and assist licensed electricians with non-technical repairs
  • Monitor performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems; standard repair/replacement of components; non-technical maintenance tasks (cleaning fan coil units, adjustment of system controls)
  • Non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems (repair leaking fixtures, clean obstructed waste lines, install water coolers, non-technical modifications to plumbing and water supply systems); assist licensed plumbers
  • Carpentry maintenance tasks (sheetrock/drywall installation/repair, window replacement, cabinet and countertop replacement, painting and texturing, door and hardware installation)
  • Paint interior and exterior finishes
  • May assist in maintaining the water treatment and storage system
  • General maintenance, custodial, and trash removal tasks
  • May repair kitchen equipment
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Document facilities maintenance requirements; maintain appropriate records of work performed
  • Maintain tools and storage areas
  • Maintain flowers and gardens
  • Maintain facility carpets
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Completed diploma from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement
  • Specialize skill trade in at least one of the areas electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, drywall, carpentry
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
  • Record maintenance skills
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
  • Ability to repair and maintain appliances and heating and cooling equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
  • Knowledge of one or more building trades
  • Able to plan and prioritize jobs working with a Preventative maintenance program
