Description
Praia is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to serve as a technical anchor and architect for its core consumer experience platform. The role involves end-to-end architectural ownership spanning high-performance Java services, Databricks ETL pipelines, and enterprise healthcare integrations. Responsibilities include leading architecture/system design, building and operating EMR integration services using HL7 FHIR APIs, leveraging Databricks and Apache Spark for data engineering workloads, developing secure and well-documented APIs (with authentication/authorization, auditing, least privilege), owning DevOps/operational readiness (CI/CD, testing, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring/logging, incident response), and collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, and customer-facing teams. Qualifications include 8+ years building/operating production software with staff/senior scope, strong Java/Python/Spark and Databricks (jobs, Delta Lake), required healthcare interoperability integration experience with FHIR APIs, cloud-native service experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes and Terraform, deep OAuth2/OIDC and API security knowledge, and observability/incident response experience. Work authorization requires permanent residence in the United States or Canada and current authorization to work in the United States full-time; no work visa sponsorship.
