Portrait empowers investors to build a deep understanding of a company in a fraction of the time. Today, investment analysts spend dozens of hours reading through hundreds of pages of filings to piece together the "narrative" of a company (i.e. the story behind the evolution of the business and its key metrics). Portrait makes this learning process frictionless by 1) extracting and summarizing key financial and textual data and 2) delivering this curated content in an intuitive terminal-based UI. Armed with Portrait, analysts can dramatically expand the number of opportunities diligenced per year. While early, we are having conversations with multiple funds interested in becoming both pilot customers and seed investors. The right technical cofounder for this business is someone with extensive NLP experience and is energized by building a novel end-to-end application.
