Description

University of Hawaii Currents Group developed and supports data acquisition software (UHDAS) that maps ocean currents around the world via an international fleet of ship mounted Doppler sonars. We are looking for a programmer fluent in Python and Cython to help us develop and maintain our Open Source software libraries. We rely on several Open Source libraries including Matplotlib, Numpy, ZeroMQ, and Django. Future work is planned using FastAPI and Vue. Our software is deployed on Linux/Ubuntu. Join us in Hawaii and surf in the morning or afternoon while working on code in between. Explore the world above and below the water with possibility for travel to the ships across the world for on-site troubleshooting with warm tropical sunsets, icebergs, or penguins out of your window. We also have an opening for a more operational position, looking for data munging and networking skills. Both blurbs can be found here: https://currents.soest.hawaii.edu/docs/hiring/2023-hiring.ht...
