Role details

  • Own the end-to-end flow of hardware products from manufacturers to distributors across multiple regions
  • Place and manage manufacturer purchase orders and track them through to delivery
  • Coordinate directly with manufacturers on lead times, production schedules, shipment planning, and day-to-day issues
  • Support distributors with back-office tasks: order coordination, delivery updates, and issue resolution
  • Manage order flow, inventory updates, and data in NetSuite
  • Handle partial deliveries, stock allocation decisions, and inventory coordination across regions
  • Coordinate global logistics with freight forwarders and logistics partners
  • Run the RMA process end to end, including coordination, root-cause tracking, and reconciliation with manufacturers
  • Analyze forecast data and inventory levels to support purchasing decisions on when and how much to order
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and supply chain documentation
  • Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve the supply chain as the company scales
  • Work cross-functionally with the Hardware, Commercial, and Finance teams to keep everything aligned
  • 4+ years in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or operations, with direct, hands-on ownership of the work
  • Direct experience coordinating with manufacturers, including placing and managing purchase orders and working with lead times and production schedules
  • Experience with factories in China (or elsewhere in Asia) strongly preferred
  • Cultural fluency communicating with international manufacturing partners, particularly in Asia
  • Practical grasp of inventory management, stock allocation, and partial deliveries
  • Experience coordinating international shipments and logistics
  • Experience with an ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Odoo, or similar) and confidence placing POs and managing deliveries within one
  • Track record of bringing structure: documenting processes, writing SOPs, and improving workflows
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal structure and high ownership in a fast-moving environment
  • Analytical mindset comfortable using reporting and forecast data to drive decisions
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills

Description

Nabu Casa is the organisation behind Home Assistant, the world's largest free and open-source smart home platform. Nabu Casa is looking for a Supply Chain Coordinator / Supply & Logistics Coordinator to own the flow of hardware products—from manufacturers to distributors, and ultimately to the homes of the people running Home Assistant. The role owns day-to-day purchasing and logistics operations: purchase orders, manufacturer coordination, logistics, distributor support, inventory, and RMA handling, and turning how the work is done into documented, repeatable processes (SOPs). The role supports and scales international hardware operations across regions and distribution channels. You will work closely with the Global Channel Manager, Hardware team, and Finance team, and directly with manufacturers, distributors, and logistics partners. You report to the VP Commercial based in Norway. Key responsibilities include end-to-end flow of hardware products across regions, placing/managing purchase orders, coordinating with manufacturers on lead times and production schedules, supporting distributors with order coordination and delivery updates, managing inventory and order flow data in NetSuite, handling partial deliveries and stock allocation decisions, coordinating global logistics with freight forwarders and logistics partners, running the RMA process end to end, analyzing forecast and inventory levels for purchasing decisions, and identifying bottlenecks and improving processes as the company scales. The role requires 4+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or operations with direct hands-on ownership; experience coordinating with manufacturers (especially China/Asia preferred); cultural fluency with international manufacturing partners; practical inventory management including stock allocation and partial deliveries; experience coordinating international shipments and logistics; experience with an ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Odoo, or similar) with confidence placing POs and managing deliveries; ability to document and improve workflows/SOPs; ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment; and an analytical mindset using reporting and forecast data. Nice-to-have: specific NetSuite experience, hardware/consumer electronics/e-commerce operations experience, AI tools and automation workflows familiarity, experience supporting distributor/channel operations, and personal experience using Home Assistant.
