Derq

Derq is an MIT spinoff building AI-powered traffic safety and smart infrastructure. As a ML Quality Assurance Engineer at Derq, you will ensure the reliability, accuracy, and performance of computer vision and machine learning based products. You will collaborate with development to design and execute test strategies, identify and report defects, and improve quality of customer-facing AI products using data analytics. Key responsibilities include: partnering with AI/product teams to understand requirements and design test plans and cases; strategizing evaluation methodologies and evaluation reporting; performing data analytics on large datasets; monitoring anomalies in product content and statistics; training and deploying ML models to boost performance; creating and maintaining documentation for test processes and findings; staying current with field advancements; interfacing and coordinating with engineering; and fostering a collaborative team environment. Requirements include: bachelor’s degree in an analytical domain; knowledge/experience with Python, JavaScript, and SQL; familiarity with classical ML models (Random Forest, SVM, Naive Bayes); core statistical inference concepts; hands-on spreadsheet querying and analytics; proficiency with CVAT or similar annotation tools; excellent MS Office Word/Excel skills; strong English and reporting skills; basic statistical principles and detail-oriented logical reasoning.
