Mobena

Mobena is a three-person, remote-first startup building the “evolution” of multi-generational tax/estate planning software for advisors of America’s 2 million wealthiest families. They are hiring their first dedicated UI Engineer to own the frontend of their flagship product, Mobena Evolution, for which they currently have little to no frontend code. You’ll work directly with their backend/algorithm-focused CTO and designer-founder to turn evolving Figma concepts into fast, maintainable, scalable user interfaces. Responsibilities include: choosing and justifying frontend frameworks/tools; working with/possibly extending existing Vite JS prototype code; building the UI from the ground up (components, state management, styling, testing, performance, accessibility); collaborating to refine/re-frame Figma screen designs; connecting the frontend to APIs (REST, GraphQL, or similar); and laying groundwork for future mobile clients (mobile experience is a plus). Requirements/fit: shipped an interactive application (web/desktop/mobile) via coursework, open source, side project, or professional work; cares about usability and design quality; learns by doing; comfortable admitting uncertainty and defending technical choices clearly; comfortable in an early-stage collaborative environment.
