Catamaran Research

Catamaran Research is building the cloud compute layer for the agent age (AWS/GCP-like), designed around AI agents as first-class cloud users. This is a foundational, greenfield platform role where you design and build platform infrastructure from scratch with the founding team. You will build multi-cloud substrate infrastructure including compute fleet management, networking, IAM/DNS/TLS, and tooling for safe shipping. Work involves bursty, ephemeral, untrusted workloads with millisecond-latency requirements and hard isolation between tenants, including physical infrastructure and GPU provisioning. You will own multi-cloud platform infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), physical infrastructure and GPU provisioning, IaC (Terraform/Pulumi), CI/CD and rollback workflows, observability (metrics/logs/traces/alerts/dashboards), SLOs/incident response/on-call/postmortems/runbooks, and capacity planning/cost modeling/spend optimization. You should be able to write code and use AI tools daily, be experienced across multiple cloud providers (networking/IAM/compute), debug failures (networking/DNS/TLS/IAM/host-level) without a separate ops team, and have experience with bare-metal/GPU environments.
