Kato is building a compliance-first AI servicing platform for the lending market, focused on regulatory rules and an AI decision engine. Their first product is a Voice AI agent handling loan servicing calls for major fintechs. Backed by Pear VC and angel investors. Early engineering hire working directly with the CTO and CEO. Responsibilities include owning mission-critical projects across the stack, leading architecture of real-time voice processing, optimizing LLM integrations for compliance-aware conversations, and building customer-facing dashboards. Tech stack includes backend (Golang, PostgreSQL), frontend (Next.js, TypeScript, React, Tailwind), infra (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker), and AI/ML (LLMs, speech-to-text, text-to-speech). Requirements: 2-5 years of production software experience, strong API design and architectural thinking, owner's mindset. Experience with WebRTC, real-time audio, or FinTech is a plus. Location: San Francisco, 4 days/week in-person.
