Fully remote, normal salaried employee in your country. Full-time 40 hours/week. Target total compensation aims to match the 75th percentile for role/seniority/local market rates. Approximate yearly compensation: Greece 56,100 EUR (other countries vary). Benefits include 5 weeks paid time off, paid sick leave as required by local laws, parental leave, work hardware budget, annual smart home budget, annual education budget, yearly performance bonus, 50% internet contribution, and one day every two weeks for personal projects.

Description
Nabu Casa is the organization behind Home Assistant. The Technical Writer will own the documentation experience for Nabu Casa Hardware and Cloud—creating and maintaining accurate, up-to-date, discoverable docs for setup guides, APIs, and integrations. You will collaborate with engineers to research and verify content, audit and improve existing documentation, define documentation standards/style guides/templates, triage documentation feedback from the community/support/internal teams, and contribute to developer experience (API guides, integration and contributor docs). The role requires strong technical writing skills, ability to read code (Python, YAML, REST APIs), understanding of smart home hardware/electronics, experience with docs-as-code (Git, Markdown, MkDocs/Docusaurus), high autonomy, and stakeholder management to extract information from engineers efficiently.
