Copper Home (fka Channing Street Copper) builds battery-integrated induction appliances for home electrification — making decarbonization accessible by putting energy storage inside everyday products, starting with the stove. The firmware team is small and owns application firmware, device connectivity, automated testing, manufacturing tools, and an MQTT backend for OTA updates and fleet telemetry. Hiring a staff embedded systems engineer focused on core firmware architecture on the Charlie induction range. Responsibilities include owning major pieces of the embedded platform and prototypes of future products; leading improvements to device connectivity (Wi-Fi, BLE, OTA, provisioning, failure recovery) and energy management; evolving fleet management, telemetry, and remote management/update systems with a focus on robustness and cost efficiency at scale; and mentoring engineers through design reviews and day-to-day technical collaboration.
