Hybrid role at IBM Research in the Boston area (3 days in office; location flexibility with Boston preferred but NYC/SF possible). Team works on co-design of software harnesses and LLMs, especially for small/medium models in the open model space. Looking for early career scientists and engineers interested in LLMs and one of programming languages, formal methods, compilers. Experience with Rust is a plus. Cool systems-y projects with formalizations on paper or in Rocq/Lean/etc are a plus. Neither is strictly necessary.
