We are USB Club and we are hiring looking for a multi-faceted design engineer to help us push forward our sneaker net for designers, artists, DJs, writers, musicians, researchers, engineers. Ideally you are someone who can both design and code, with an acute understanding of the cultural, design, artist, music and research spaces. Product Roadmapping, Research & Strategy USB Club offers a lot of opportunity and potential, including access modes for folks who don't yet have their USB; the ability to bring your own USB or bless your existing USB with privileges; bespoke USBs with custom content; growing the platform into a cloud backup system for DJs and touring musicians; building integrations with are.na and other knowledge graph platforms. Product & Web Design USB Club ships a MacOS desktop app & iOS app. The desktop app is used to share files and collect files from other people onto your USB and more generally on the network. Engineering Desktop app is an Electron app; iOS app is a true native app. Website is in Vue (likely moving to Next.js soon). API is in Typescript on PostgresQL. Dashboards in Retool; integrates with Typeform & Airtable. With support from Sanctuary Computer when necessary, the role is expected to confidently ship production-grade features. Social, Posters, Campaigns & Messaging Build culture around the network, including posters, campaigns, and messaging strategies. Time & Compensation Hourly basis (rates discussed via email, pending seniority and ability). Hourly rate $40-$75/hr.
