Chestnut

Chestnut (Nick, CTO & co-founder) is building insurance carrier software where every policy sold triggers a chain of payouts across brokers, agents, and sub-agents. The system is state-heavy and correctness-critical, reconciling with finance down to the cent, handling dynamic agent hierarchies, retries, chargebacks, and partial failures. The role involves designing schemas, building backend logic, shipping UI, deploying, and owning edge cases with enterprise customers. Stack: Go, TypeScript/React, Postgres, Temporal, Kubernetes, AWS. Company uses AI aggressively and expects similar approach. Looking for 3–6 years on real product systems, thoughtful about invariants and failure modes.
