Description

Our client is a multi-disciplinary digital product agency helping creators build lasting legacies. We are hiring an Engineering Lead with deep backend expertise and strong fluency across modern web stacks. The role is remote and involves designing and building AI-powered tools and automations, evaluating where AI/LLM orchestration adds value, designing async processing pipelines and decoupled service architectures, overseeing day-to-day engineering work, and architecting scalable backend systems using Python and Java (Kotlin is a plus). You may contribute to frontend work using React and TypeScript. You will drive performance/scalability decisions, ensure clean maintainable code, lead technical documentation/sprint planning/delivery, partner with product/design, lead client-facing technical strategy/progress conversations, and present work during demos/milestone reviews. You will provide feedback and mentorship, contribute to hiring/onboarding/leveling, and foster an inclusive transparent engineering culture. Requirements include 7+ years of professional engineering experience, strong English proficiency, familiarity with AI/LLM integration patterns, ability to clarify ambiguous briefs and deliver systems end-to-end, experience with access control (RBAC/zero trust), data sensitivity considerations, and API gateway patterns. Required: Python and Java experience including architecture and performance optimization; Strong knowledge of React, NextJS, and TypeScript; backend experience with APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud services (AWS/GCP), distributed systems; service-oriented architecture and inter-service communication (GraphQL/gRPC or similar). Must communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and comfortably lead presentations/deep dives. Bonus: LLM orchestration/agent frameworks, opinions on AI tooling landscape, creator/media/community platform experience, interest in developer experience/automation/DevOps tooling.
