Typical engagements start with clients describing a workflow that consumes their time; the engineer scopes with the client and builds an AI solution that removes the workflow burden. Stack is flexible but commonly involves TypeScript and Python, React or Next.js, LLM APIs (e.g., Claude), and integrations with client SaaS such as Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace. Uses RAG, agents, prompt engineering, and evals when needed. Requires an engineer who has shipped end-to-end as an early engineer at a small company, has strong opinions about LLM applications, writes readable code, and can scope with clients and communicate effectively in writing.
