Description

Handshake is seeking a Public Sector Account Director to build and close deals within the SLG sector. The role involves developing and nurturing relationships with senior stakeholders, identifying opportunities, and driving the sales process from lead generation through deal closure across accounts. Responsibilities include meeting/exceeding annual quota by generating high-volume meetings, understanding department/business drivers and pain points, navigating acquisition and contracting processes, scheduling/managing large department meetings with senior economic buyers, creating proposals and executive briefings/roundtables for HR and business leaders at SLG agencies, generating scalable pipeline and revenue to achieve 100% quota attainment, coordinating efforts across departments for enterprise-wide agreements, using Salesforce.com daily for activity/leads/pipeline management, and executing sales activities as requested. Requirements include 5+ years of US government acquisition/contracting knowledge and 5+ years Account Executive experience selling SaaS into SLG, success pitching/closing six-figure deals, strong relationship building across large departments/agencies, ability to negotiate large government contracts and build off-cycle pipeline, excellent customer-facing skills, ability to manage senior officials, experience with complex contract structures, a strong quota attainment record, and ability to prepare account plans and business value narratives; plus collaboration with a go-to-market team.
