Description

REGENT builds seagliders: the first form of zero-emission, high-speed, coastal transportation. Our flagship vehicle will safely transport commercial passengers by 2025.We are a venture backed startup with financing led by Thiel Capital and JAM Fund. We're supported by additional industry-leading financiers including Mesa Air Group, Mark Cuban, Y Combinator, Founders Fund, Caffeinated Capital, and Fitbit founder James Park. We are well-funded, with significant runway, and are continuing to grow our world-class team from across the aviation and maritime industries. Embedded Software: Work with flight software, GNC and Avionics team to develop embedded code and drivers for our flight control computers and controllers. Work with a variety of sensor systems, actuators and communication protocols and play an integral role in getting our first generation seaglider in the air. (C++, C, including both bare metal and UNIX environments and Python, MATLAB, or Bash) Flight Software: Develop and implement flight software. Includes low level implementation of flight control and flight management software, and building a full mission simulation environment. Vehicles will have novel control and autonomous functionality across multiple operational modes: hull-borne, hydrofoil-borne, and wing-borne. (C/C+, DO-178C or DO-254) Flight Controls: Developing and implementing control law algorithms. Will involve leveraging the interplay between hydrodynamic controls, aerodynamic controls, and distributed propulsion controls. (C/C++ Embedded SW Dev, Aircraft control systems & integrated flight HW) Avionics: Design, analysis, fabrication, integration and testing of the avionics and electrical systems. Implementing, from start to finish, a digital, fly-by-wire avionics system. Deep understanding of computing, networking, and power distribution hardware specification and selection with the ability to trade and document various options quickly but thoroughly. (Serial networks - CAN, RS485/422, ARINC 429 and ethernet & debugging) Senior Sensor Fusion: Architect, roadmap, prototype, and realize a perception system to allow our seagliders to perceive the external environment, internal state of the vehicle, and operator intent. Rapidly prototyping innovative perception solutions, performing trade studies and data collection on sensor solutions, and hands on integration of the perception system into vehicles. (C/C++ & Python coding expertise. Hands on experience with sensor selection, evaluation, and integration and expertise in sensor fusion, state estimation, target tracking, and uncertainty modeling)
