Sway

Sway is rebuilding representative democracy from the ground up in a consumer-facing fashion. Our platform converts grassroots social support into real electoral leverage, giving political organizers viral, bottom-up tools to mobilize voters. We’ve shipped our MVP and are beta-testing ahead of the 2025 election cycle. What you’ll do: Build core features across a modern TypeScript stack (Next.js + React frontend, real-time GraphQL via Hasura, TS backend). Make architecture, infra, security, privacy, and product decisions as part of a small, but tight-knit founding team. Scale our social-graph and verification systems while running rapid product experiments with users. Who you are: Excited to be onsite in San Francisco, 5 days a week with an early, mission-driven team. Comfortable moving fast in both frontend and backend TS. Experienced in shipping quickly and robustly at an early-stage startup—or are eager to learn. Motivated by high-impact civic tech and/or consumer-facing products.
