We don't care whether you can invert a binary tree on a whiteboard with an interviewer breathing down your neck :-D But, given reasonable amount of time, can you figure out the important details and trade-offs involved in converting academic description (Ex: data structures possibly in parallel or distributed setting) into production worthy systems? - Do you enjoy the process of learning, continuously striving to close any gaps in your own knowledge? - Are you a top IC, possibly feeling forced into a managerial role to grow?
