At Blue Dot Change, we are working on removing methane directly from the atmosphere. Our goal is to remove over 100 Mt of CH4 annually by 2024, ultimately reducing climate rise by about a third. We are an early stage startup. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for dispenser design, construction of certain lab equipment for testing and qualifying it. The ME team will grow to half a dozen over the next 18 months as we design not just the emitter, but also materials handling, interface with shipboard operations, resupply etc, so your responsibilities can develop in any of these areas depending on your skills and interests. But the development and qualification of emissions in the lab will be your initial focus. The ideal candidate should have experience in building industrial-scale hardware and operating in a marine environment. The job will likely require occasional travel to Oakland, Hawaii, Long Beach, and later to other countries.
