We help finance students through trade & vocational school, to pursue in-demand careers like electricians, nurses, welders, or pharmacists. Trade school in the US is an amazing opportunity for people to move from poverty towards a stable income, but the students that would benefit most are the ones that struggle most with paying for tuition. Traditional credit underwriting doesn't work well for students right out of high school or with weak credit history. We underwrite students based on their future potential instead of their credit history, and we have built a more student-friendly, federally compliant loan as we work with our partner schools. We're a small team of 10, based half in NYC and half remote, and went through YC in 2019. We're looking for product-minded engineers and data scientists who can move fast, write high-quality code, and love building things from scratch. Our stack is postgres/python/react.
