Help create industry-leading software for reading research papers across thousands of peer-reviewed, academic journals. Join our small team that’s been exclusively remote for over 10 years, crafting and shipping products that our users love. We're seeking full-stack developers with senior or staff-level experience. Third Iron software is used by researchers in over 1,200 libraries, including universities, hospitals, corporations, and government agencies located across 35 countries. We’re looking for a developer interested in doing full-stack work, with a little more focus on the backend. Our development process focuses on creating a great user experience for our customers, which includes researchers of all kinds, from scientists, to medical professionals, to arts and humanities researchers, and beyond. You'll help build APIs, develop backend systems, and also contribute to some front-end projects including our web apps and browser extension. Our stack primarily consists of JavaScript (especially NodeJS), PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch. Supporting tech that you'd get to work with include RabbitMQ, EmberJS, React, TypeScript, Terraform, Chef, AWS and Heroku. Third Iron was founded in 2011 as a remote-first, fully distributed company, and we continue that today.
