Description

Our group at the aims to bring genetic therapy closer to the clinic, by engineering next-generation gene delivery vehicles (adeno-associated viruses – AAVs) At the Broad Institute, we benefit from a unique blend of blue skies academic research and biotechnology-driven projects. We have access to state-of-the-art facilities and unparalleled collaborative support from academic and industry partners. Hiring for multiple roles: Multiple openings: Software Engineer / Bioinformatician / Biostatistician / Data Scientist: - Possible projects include: - Cutting edge data science to integrate, curate, and mine complex datasets to develop next-generation AAV vectors - Terabyte-scale databases for large DNA sequencing datasets - Data visualization – concept to implementation - This role does not require a biology background, but an excitement to learn from wet-lab molecular biologists. Knowledge of statistics, algorithm design, data analysis and visualization desired. Software engineer on: - Platform for scientists/public health officials to analyze mutations in emerging SARS-CoV-2 strains - Add key features and expand the impact of the site. - General purpose web-development skills desired - Substantial opportunity to build methods/interfaces for analyzing data that are accessible to our wet-lab scientists. Experience with web development and data science libraries is ideal but not required. Biology experience is preferred, but not required. On-site required but remote work OK for 2–3 days a week.
