Description

Stanford Research Computing (SRCC) is a collaboration between University IT and the Vice Provost and Dean of Research. They operate HPC environments for researchers, provide one-time consultations (software/pipelines, data management, physical building design and fit-out), and provide contract support for labs, departments, and schools. Three full-time positions are open: (1) HPC Hardware & Infra Sysadmin (ONSITE) responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the hardware of Sherlock, the largest HPC cluster with Intel & AMD x86_64 servers, three Infiniband fabrics, and an Ethernet backbone. (2) Principal Storage Architect & Team Lead (HYBRID) to lead the storage team and set direction for Oak (file storage), Fir (fast scratch for Sherlock), and Elm (object storage on top of tape). (3) Storage Architect or Storage Sysadmin (HYBRID) to maintain and expand Oak (20+ Pebibyte Lustre storage for largest HPC clusters), with possible responsibility for Elm depending on experience. Knowledge of Lustre, Infiniband, and PB-scale storage is important. Relocation incentive and free transit passes are offered if needed; parking is paid if driving on-site.
