Normal salaried employee in country of residence (fully remote via Remote). Includes at least 5 weeks paid time off, 14 days paid sick leave if treated as unpaid by local laws, 6 weeks paid + 6 weeks unpaid parental leave in first year after birth, work hardware budget, annual smart home budget, annual education budget, yearly performance bonus based on company performance, 50% contribution to home internet connection, and one day every two weeks to work on personal projects. Target total compensation (approx. yearly) in primary operating countries: Spain 73,000 EUR; Portugal 64,700 EUR; Italy 67,100 EUR; UK 81,400 GBP; Greece 58,400 EUR; Hungary 25,700,000 HUF; Poland 370,000 PLN; Romania 444,000 RON. Other countries: compensation discussed in first interview; adjusted for experience/qualifications/work hours.

Role details
Responsibilities
- Own the performance of Nabu Casa's digital channels (website, email, SEO, paid, social) with clear targets for reach, conversion, and subscriber growth
- Plan and execute digital campaigns end-to-end, from brief through creative to post-campaign analysis, aligned with product launches and commercial priorities
- Build and improve organic search presence through content strategy and on-site SEO, reducing reliance on paid traffic over time
- Run email marketing for Home Assistant Cloud subscribers (lifecycle flows, release announcements, and re-engagement) and track relevant metrics
- Own paid digital spend and ROI across channels; allocate and optimise the budget with rigor
- Report on digital performance weekly and bring a clear point of view on what to prioritise next
- Grow and engage Nabu Casa's presence in user communities (Home Assistant forums, Reddit, YouTube, and adjacent open-source and smart home spaces)
- Test new growth levers (affiliate, referral, influencer) with structured experiments and documented learnings
Requirements
- Hands-on experience running digital channels (SEO, email, paid social/search, content) with owned performance metrics
- Fluency in analytics: able to build dashboards, interpret funnel data, and distinguish signal from noise without relying on a data team
- Strong copywriting for digital contexts for a technically literate audience
- Familiarity with marketing automation and CRM tooling (e.g. Mailchimp, HubSpot, or equivalent)
- High autonomy

Description
Nabu Casa is the organization behind Home Assistant, a free and open-source smart home platform used by over two million households. This role is a hands-on, execution-focused Digital Marketing Manager position. You will own performance across Nabu Casa's digital channels (website, email, SEO, paid, social), plan and execute end-to-end campaigns, grow organic presence via content strategy and on-site SEO, run email marketing for Home Assistant Cloud subscribers, manage paid spend and ROI, report weekly performance and prioritize next steps, engage user communities (Home Assistant forums, Reddit, YouTube, and adjacent open-source/smart home spaces), and test growth levers such as affiliate, referral, and influencer with structured experiments and documented learnings. You will work closely with the Product Marketing Manager and report to the VP Commercial.
